Why the TAPS App is Not a Toy

Why the TAPS App is Not a Toy

There are several paranormal mobile applications on the market currently. Many of them are for entertainment purposes only, and are listed as such on the stores. The TAPS app is definitely NOT an ‘For Entertainment Only’ application. In fact, Fuzzywhite Hawes spent several days in discussions with Apple to prove to them that this application was not for entertainment purposes. They agreed, and allowed us to put it in the Utilities category.

The TAPS app can be trusted as an accurate and effective tool for investigations. Here is why. Mobile devices are really micro computers. They have serious computational power. Tasks can be accomplished on a mobile device today that would have taken a room full of computers just 30 years ago. Mobile devices have sensors that accurately detect the environment in which they are being used. For example, geolocation can be used to pinpoint where the device is located. Cell tower triangulation is often used in law enforcement to locate a missing person.

Also, a large number of applications on the market rely on the very slightest movements of the device. The reason these applications are very popular is because the movement detection is accurate. Movement detection is accomplished by the Accelerometer sensor. This sensor is so accurate that it can detect the seismic movements of the earth.

Mobile devices also have a Magnetometer sensor. This sensor detects the slightest variations in Electro-Magnetic Fields. It is perfect for paranormal investigations.

There are those who suggest that a mobile device should not be used for paranormal investigation. We would strongly disagree. Here are some of the reasons offered and a rebuttal for each.

1) Mobile phones can be a distraction because people can get text messages and phone calls during an investigation

The answer to this is simple - use airplane mode. Airplane mode stops the device from being able to receive or send any data. However, the sensors still work so you can still investigate.

2) The magnetic readings cannot be trusted on a cellular device because of data bursts.

Again, the answer here is airplane mode. There can be no data bursts in airplane mode.

3) Cell phones are just not as good as dedicated equipment for paranormal investigation.

This is not necessarily true. Mobile devices that have the features discussed above cost several hundreds of dollars (unless you sign up for a long term contract). Again, these are sophisticated micro-computers - much more sophisticated then a single purpose $100 EMF meter.

Here is the bottom line. If you have a mobile device, you have paid good money for it. If you can use the computing power and sensors of that device for investigation, why wouldn’t you? What matters is that the application you are using is accurate, trustworthy, and tested in the field. We have spent nearly an entire year developing the TAPS app to assure that it is a valid, useful investigation tool. We would not put our personal and organizational reputations at risk, if we were not confident of the validity and usefulness of this app.

Haunted Graves

Can you keep the Dead dead? This app is one of many games and tools coming from Fuzzywhite Hawes (FWH). FWH is a collaboration between reality TV star Jason Hawes of TAPS and Fuzzywhite Technology.
Haunted Graves is a highly addicting ghost hunting game for all ages.
Something is just not right in this cemetery. The ghosts do not want to stay dead. You can help by dragging them back to their graves before they escape. Be especially careful of the green banshees. They will suck out your health much faster than the other ghosts. If you can survive long enough and send enough ghosts back to their graves, you will be rewarded with a one use ghost blaster weapon to eliminate all the ghosts on the screen at once. Use it wisely, as it may be your only chance to survive. Happy ghost hunting!

FAQ’s

We thought we’d post a few FAQ’s that come up, well, very frequently regarding Mobile Application Development.

Q: How long does it take to create a mobile app?

A: It typically takes several months or longer. It greatly depends upon the features and functionality you desire in your finished app. Also, do you want your app available on more than one platform such as iOS and Android? This adds to the timeline.

Q: How much does app development cost?

A: Again, this varies a lot, depending on the desired level of functionality in the end product. We can assist you in defining the scope of your project, and will provide an estimate based upon the requirements gathered. This initial requirements gathering phase, app development, and app launch, are all billed at an hourly rate.

Q: Do you have apps of your own?

A: We do, and they are on our website. However, the majority of apps we create are for clients. So, if you search the apps stores for our name, most of the apps we have created won’t be found, since they are considered works for hire. The apps we have created have thousands upon thousands of downloads, and we have very satisfied clients worldwide.

Q: Are you on Facebook?

A: Of course. As well as many other forms of social media. Just check our website.

Q: What happens when I fill out the contact form on your website?

A: We will initially send you a NDA. This can be emailed to you if you provide an email address. This NDA, or non-disclosure agreement, means any ideas for your app that you share with us, are protected. You can feel confident that information you share with us will be treated as confidential and private. We will then schedule a time with you to talk, Skype, or meet and discuss how we can help you.

Q: Do you keep the money I make from app sales?

A: No. Your income is just that, yours.

If you have need of Mobile Application Development, please let us know how we can help. We’d love to work with you!
